About

This blog, Project Constructs, is a library of video links related to project work, curated by Cogent Language. Cogent Language is a US-based LLC, established in 2005. The founder and managing director is Dan Clapper.

Since our launch of operations in Tokyo in 2007, Cogent Language has supported early career professionals in Indo Pacific project settings. We have had long-term relationships here in Japan with innovative organizations in the nonprofit, education, and private sectors. Corporate clients have included top-of-the-line global firms in IT, finance, engineering, and publishing. Outside the private sector, we continue to work with universities here, offering advice and instruction in project management, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

With the onset of the pandemic in 2020, we began to operate mainly from the highlands of Japan’s Nagano prefecture. These days, our key customers are individuals nurturing projects, especially those with new responsibilities in the Indo Pacific. As our value proposition, we offer opportunities to grow your own project know-how. This is a know-how essential for addressing risk, nurturing diverse teams, and tackling complex business challenges, whether a development approach is identified as “agile”, “waterfall”, “hybrid, whatever works” or is “not sure yet”.

If you are an early career professional or an “accidental project manager”, we are here to support you.
